Christianus van Mellifont
† 1186 · (eigenlijk Giolla Croist O'Conarchy) van Mellifont, Ierland o.cist., abt & bisschop
Volgens sommige bronnen was hij verwant met de heilige aartsbisschop van Armagh, Malachy († 1148; feest 3 november). Nog ten tijde van Sint Bernard trad hij in Clairvaux toe tot de cisterciënzers . De grote stichter en abt stuurde hem in 1142 terug naar Ierland om daar de cisterciënzer orde te vestigen. Zo werd hij de stichter en eerste abt van de abdij Mellifont. Later zou hij bisschop geworden zijn van Lismore en trad hij op als pauselijk legaat in Ierland. In deze functie nam hij bijvoorbeeld deel aan het Concilie van Kells in 1152.
