Hij zou in de 6e eeuw op het eiland dat naar hem is genoemd, een klooster hebben gevestigd. Hij stierf op honderd-jarige leeftijd, terwijl hij almaar het psalmvers bad: "Wat was ik blij, toen men mij zei: 'Wij gaan op naar het huis van de Heer'." (Psalm 122,1). Er rest geen enkele spoor van.
