Britwin van Beverley

Hij was een vriend van de Johannes van Beverley. Toen Johannes afstand deed van zijn bisschopszetel te York werd hij door Britwin hartelijk opgenomen in zijn klooster. Hij stond op zijn beurt Britwin bij tijdens diens sterven - in het jaar 733 - en liet zijn stoffelijk overschot in een eervolle schrijn plaatsen. De vroege Engelse historicus Beda Venerabilis († 735) vermeldt hem in zijn Geschiedenis van de Britse kerk.
