Hij was Vietnamees, geboren in 1765. In 1808 ingetreden bij de dominicanen , werd hij priester gewijd en werkte hij als missionaris in zijn eigen land. Na publicatie van het christenverbod wist hij zich zes jaar schuil te houden. Toen werd hij verraden, en te Hai-duong terechtgesteld.
